Telegram Link Shortener Bot: Shorten Links in Any Chat

Most links you share today travel through a chat. Copying a long URL out of Telegram, shortening it in a browser tab and pasting it back is three steps too many. The Linked.is Telegram bot does all of it inside Telegram: send a link and get a short one back, share short links and QR codes in any chat, and check clicks without opening a browser.

This guide covers what the bot can do, how to connect it to your account in under a minute, and how to use inline mode to share a short link in a conversation with someone who has never heard of Linked.is.

What the Linked.is Telegram bot does

The bot is three tools in one:

PartWhere you use itWhat it is for
Bot chatA private chat with @linkedis_botSend a link, get a short link with copy, QR and stats buttons
Inline modeAny chat, group or channelType @linkedis_bot plus a link and share the short link or its QR code
Mini AppThe Open app button in the bot chatYour dashboard, links, bio pages, link lists and free tools

Everything is saved to your Linked.is account. A link you shorten in Telegram shows up in the web dashboard with the same analytics, and the other way around.

How to connect the bot to your account

  1. Open @linkedis_bot in Telegram and press Start.
  2. The bot replies with a short code and a Connect account button.
  3. Press the button. It opens Linked.is in your browser; sign up for free if you do not have an account yet.
  4. Check that the code matches and approve it. The bot confirms in the chat right away.

There is no password to type into Telegram and no token to copy. You can disconnect at any time with /disconnect.

Paste or forward any message that contains a link. The bot answers with the short link and three buttons:

  • Copy puts the short link on your clipboard.
  • QR code sends a ready-to-print QR image of the short link.
  • Stats shows total clicks, clicks in the last 30 days, and the top countries and devices.

A message with several links gets a short link for each, up to five at a time. The bot also picks up the page title, so you can tell your links apart later.

Useful commands:

  • /links lists your latest short links with their click counts.
  • /stats followed by a short link or its code shows the numbers for that link.
  • /app opens the Mini App.
  • /language changes the bot's language. It follows your Telegram language by default and speaks 31 languages.

Inline mode is the fastest way to share a link with someone else. You do not need to add the bot to the group or switch chats.

  1. In any chat, type @linkedis_bot followed by a space.
  2. Paste a link. A result appears with your short link, and a second one to send it as a QR code.
  3. Tap a result and it is sent to the chat.

If you already shortened the same URL, the bot reuses that short link instead of creating a duplicate, so your stats stay in one place. While you are still typing, it says so and waits until the address responds, so half-typed links never end up in your account.

Inline mode does more than shorten:

  • Leave it empty (@linkedis_bot and a space) to pick one of your recent links. Scroll down to load older ones.
  • Type a word to search your links by title, short code or destination.

Every message sent this way has two buttons under it: Open, which goes to the link, and Shorten with linked.is, which lets the person you are talking to try the bot in the same chat. Click statistics are never shown there; only you can see them.

Your dashboard in the Mini App

Press Open app in the bot chat to start the Mini App. It works inside Telegram on phone, desktop and web:

  • Home: your links, total clicks, visitors and bio pages at a glance, a 30-day visits chart and your latest links.
  • Links: create links with a custom short code, title, expiry date, click limit and UTM parameters. Each link has its QR code and detailed stats.
  • Bio pages: edit your profile, add, reorder or hide blocks, and see page views.
  • Link lists: build and edit lists, make them public, or lock them with a password.
  • Tools: the free Linked.is tools, such as the WhatsApp link generator, open in the same window.
  • Settings: the app language and the connected account.

Is it safe?

Every link is checked against malware and phishing lists before it is shortened, the same check the web dashboard uses. Links that fail are refused, in the bot chat and in inline mode.

Inline mode is private by design. Telegram only sends the bot what you type after @linkedis_bot, never the rest of the conversation. The Mini App signs you in with Telegram's own signed login data, and the bot only acts on the account you approved.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Linked.is Telegram bot free?

Yes. It works with a free Linked.is account, and links you create in Telegram are the same short links you get on the web, with the same analytics.

Do I need to add the bot to my group?

No. Inline mode works in any chat, group or channel where you can send messages, as long as the group admins have not turned off inline bots. The bot never reads group messages.

Can I use my own domain or a custom short code?

Custom short codes, expiry dates and click limits are available in the Mini App's Links tab. Links on your own domain can be managed from the web dashboard.

Which languages does the bot support?

31, including English, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Persian, Indonesian, Spanish, German and Chinese. It follows your Telegram language, and /language switches it any time.
